Child's Socks

I designed this pattern for charity knitting where size is not important because the finished sock will always fit someone. It is not necessary to knit a swatch and any sport weight yarn will work. I've knit these socks using: Denys Brunton Delux and Magic Color, Millor Trenzado, Yeoman Panama, Tamm Trenzi, Tamm 3 ply, Bramwell Fine 4 ply, 2 Strands 2/24, etc.

This pattern is written for the experienced knitter on the standard gauge knitting machine. Details have been omitted to keep the pattern simple. These are suggested tensions; feel free to change tension according to your machine and yarn.

Scrap off both sides of zero separately.

Knit the second sock with one less row of rib. This will reverse the side of the Short Rowing.

1.  Take off with waste yarn and Kitchener (graft) toe together.

2.  Sew side seam of foot.

3.  Seam the ribbing halfway on one side and the other half reversed. This will

allow for a cuff without the seam showing.
