The following patterns were created for charity knitting. I started a fun trick about 20 years ago where I knit a hat for charity from each and every hat pattern I find - magazines, pattern books, Internet, etc. It is amazing how many hats you can knit this way!  And I never missed the dibs and dabs of yarn that it used.

There are ALWAYS people in need of warm hats and mittens. Some of the Churches in Rochester, put up Mitten Trees at Christmas where all the offerings are donated to people in need. You can quickly find an organization in your area by running a search on your computer. Here's a link to get you started:  Project Linus

If you would like to help by knitting for those less fortunate than yourself and need yarn, please drop me an email and I'll send you some. Feel free to use my patterns for charity knitting.

  • Shaker Knit Hat

    • This nice, easy hat used fingering weight to very thin yarns only. It's a great way to use up some of those single and 2 ply yarns that seem to accumulate in our yarn stashes.

  • Child's Socks

    • I designed this pattern for charity knitting where size is not important. The finished sock will always fit someone. It is not necessary to knit a swatch and any sport weight yarn will work. The pattern is written for the experienced knitter as some details are omitted to keep the pattern simple. (aka KISS)

  • Double Bed Baby Cap & Booties

    • One of my favorite techniques is double bed knitting. This one was designed for Bundles of Love. The  booties have very little shaping and take about 5 minutes to knit each, once you get the hang of it. I seam my baby knits with the "Bees Knees" Technique so they take a bit longer to put together than the Mattress stitch.
